permanent jewelry faq's
Our high-quality 14k gold filled + sterling silver chains are durable and welded together, however if you need to remove your jewels you can cut it at the link with scissors.
We offer 14k gold fill + sterling silver metals.
Traveling is not an issue here! Travelers can wear gold fill or sterling silver jewelry through airport security without any issues, and you will not be required to remove it during security screening. Lesser quality "costume" jewelry may trigger the alarm if it contains magnetic metals (i.e., iron, nickel, and cobalt).
You can clean your welded jewelry with warm water, a gentle tooth brush and dish soap. This will help remove any dirt and debris that might have built up on your jewelry.
We ensure the integrity of our weld before your appointment is complete. However, things happen! Just because our pieces are designed to be permanent, it does not mean they're unbreakable. If you need to remove it or your welded jewelry comes off for any reason, you are welcome to contact us at: hello@hoftstudio.com to schedule a re-weld at a pop up near you*
*First re-weld is free. Anything after costs $20 per re-weld.
*If your jewelry is not in its original form and has been stretched beyond repair, a new piece will need to be purchased.
